I was sort of surprised that my third grader got homework tonight. Anyone else? I'm Los a bit surprised that this type a mom has become such a slacker mom. Happy Halloween!

To answer your question, yes, homework was given. No idea what you are saying in the second half of your post. |
It's witches and devils night- not a national emergency. Why wouldn't there be homework? |
Yes. Fourth grade homework tonight. |
2nd grader got HW. |
Why can't children do their homework before they go trick-or-treating? I don't see why a teacher would/should not assign homework tonight.

second grader in MCPS, no homework. |
2nd grader yes. 5th grader no. Surprised they didn't both have it, since they just missed 2 days of school. FCPS. |
Nope. |
Just reading. Very happy to be able to go to parties and trick or treat with my kids without having to worry about homework. It was a nice evening. |
yes, 5th and 2nd. Generally, we don't, but with the unschedule days off I understand. But we didn't do it. ![]() |
fcps here, our elementary school child gets off the bus at 4:35 and doesn't get home until 4:45. The kids are not allowed to get pens and pencils out on the bus, so there is no chance of getting homework done on the ride home. By the time they go to the bathroom and eat, there is just enough time to change into costumes before going out. |
That's crappy! Teachers should have a heart and not assign homework on Halloween! As PP noted, many kids don't get home much before dinner, even if you eat just before dusk. |
Does it take 2 1/2 hours to walk home from school? Why would they be getting home just before dinner? |
2nd grader. no homework |
