Bigot: a person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group. Seems like a perfectly appropriate use to me. Seems like an especially appropriate label for you, bigot. |
Amazing. The bolded part is where you have lost the plot and don’t even see it. Utterly ridiculous. |
This is where the anti-bicycle bigot explains that it's not bigotry because their beliefs are reasonable and founded in fact... |
The more you try to associate yourself with an oppressed class the more stupid you sound. Please keep it up. |
+1 I don’t care if you bike or not or whatever but please stop saying people are bicycle bigots or whatever. You sound foolish. |
NP. Bigotry comes in many forms. An unreasonable prejudice toward an individual based on their membership in a group is bigotry. Anti-LGBTQ. Anti-dog-owner. Anti-conservative. Etc. If you hate on someone just because they ride a bike and for no other reason, you’re bigot. That’s what it means. |
That might be too progressive a definition for folks so rabidly against progress. |
The idea of trying to victimize oneself as a biker or dog owner is flat out embarrassing. The attempt to associate that self-victimization with the struggles that LGBTQ+ people face is where this gets offensive. |
| Nobody is saying they're a victim. What they're saying is that you're a bigot. |
🤡 |
You seriously don’t get it and you refuse to get it. Good luck in life! I am sure that you’re doing great. |
| It's unfortunate when bike "advocates" present as more petulant and immature than the training wheels demographic. |
| I ride my bike as often as I can, including commuting to work and taking my kids around town, and I think it's absurd to say people who don't like bicycling are bigots. Bigotry, to me, would require prejudice against people for some immutable characteristic; being on a bicycle is not that. |
That’s not the definition of bigotry. |
| So I did a little research to figure out what is going on here and apparently this “bike bigot” stuff is real niche, extremist bike subculture stuff. Seems to be a bunch of cyclists radicalizing themselves on the internet. Just in case that was not clear. In retrospect it’s pretty obvious. |
