Why is the rabble not allowed to buy whatever stock they want?

Because you need to make a sound financial business decision to buy a stock. And soon, only financial planners will be able to make those decisions for you.

They need to be taught a lesson? The rabble isn't allowed to make money. It's only allowed to lose money.

The people that no longer have a fiduciary duty?

Some socialist smartie should develop an app that does sh*t like this automatically. Like, the app would’ve detected what was happening with the shorts and proposed the solution the redditor did to people on the app. App users could then pledge a certain amount of money to the cause and when a threshold is reached, the app takes action (since stuff like this only works when many people do it).

I would love to spend my free time and money scrolling through “funds” where I could pledge money to annoy Wall Street and regularly create this sort of drama to draw attention to how f@ed the system is. I think the Yes Men used to fund some of their projects this way.

I’m in at 12.50 but even if it goes to 20 again AH I am not selling until I see what happens tomorrow. It’ll be a wild ride!

the socialist app would need billions of dollars in capital for it to work, and even then it only works because of the massive short position relative to the float

You mean an algorithm? An algorithm like all the quants? Nope, can't have individual investors doing what the hedge funds do.

Will there be a squeeze? It seem now that manipulation is happening, no more strength in the grip. I think if big money supports retail is the only way up.

ApexClearing blocked buy orders of GME, AMC, and others. Apex provides clearing for retail platforms on SoFi, Goldman Sachs, etc.

Tons of platforms were locked out buying, but only allowing selling,

"Because of the volatility"? What were they thinking? Do they think they'll get away with this?

It’s like a damn waiting to burst though. The very second Robinhood allows buy orders again this thing will rocket.
