As a parent of a former player who will not return to Loudoun and having gone through the different ranks/colors for several years I can assure you all they care about is ecnl and red. Black kind of receives a little bit of attention because they’re the feeder for red which in turn feeds to ecnl.

The remaining 3 teams are just cash providers.

This is so true. Have had kids on all five "color" teams and noticeable difference from my Red/ECNL players to my Silver team players. ECNL has really changed the dynamic at LS which is why we decided to leave. We were really more interested in player development and competitive games, not just another "elite" league to compete with.

How exactly would you you describe that so called dynamic change? Loudoun’s girls ECNL teams are absolutely horrible. With exception of 07 and 04 the rest of teams could barely win a game. And what’s worse: they were embarrassingly poor. When you’re getting blown tf out day in and day out well... you be the judge
On the boys side they don’t stink that hard but at the end of the day that’s what you get with lack of philosophy, culture and resorting to long kickballs as the overall method of playing.

But it doesn't matter their record - that's where the put the marketing in the club: ECNL. Look at most of the media across their sites and it's always ECNL above anything else. Red and Black don't really get the same love they used to. White and below is a joke. Agree the 04 and 07 ECNL teams are decent. Our age group (girls) is mediocre at best, and its enlightening to see them play games against NC teams. LS needs to start to build real technical training. My DD didn't even want to stay it was so bad so we switched clubs.
Our boys are still U-little travel, so good insight. I will say we like the coaches on the boys side a lot better than the girls.

When the record is bad then market the league. Easy peasy.

I would suspect that many parents who don't know better only look at the league, not the team record...Especially based on what I'm reading on these threads.

To be fair, a team record doesn’t tell the whole story, but Loudoun’s lack of success with their B and below teams club wide demonstrates a problem. No club does less with more than Loudoun.

Maybe our experience was different, but our boys Silver team dominated every team we played. It was the opposite experience since we won every game and didn't feel like our boys were challenged, but since we were the "D" team, so the "good" competition went to the White and Black team...

There are a number of posters on here posting about Loudoun. If your kid’s Silver team was good, it probably had more to do with a good crop of first-year travel players who moved up from their internal league rather than their development of existing players. Probably players that should have been placed on higher level teams from the start, but hadn’t “paid their dues.” Anyhow, check out other clubs and you’ll find that there are a number of other clubs that do a much better job of developing players than Loudoun. As the other poster said, no one does less with more.

Loudoun does kinda suck. They are offering refunds for rec kids this fall but not for the travel kids that pay thousands more. Really piss poor stuff. Not sure if other local clubs are offering refunds, but this really brings out the true colors of LS.

False re Loudoun Travel refunds for Fall. They have info on their website about how they’re handling refunds for their programs.

Every club looks like they’ve adopted a new plan for this year, as they should.
