Sporty families bragging about offers and committing to awful colleges in the middle of nowhere?

Maybe even a worthless one in your opinion but they love it, it makes their whole college experience better, and there is much to be learned from being on a team at many levels. If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. I don’t think OP has ever been on a team, hence the unbelievably self centered perspective on other people’s kids.

Nicely said but you’re wasting your keystrokes. This poor loon was picked last for dodgeball and isn’t over it yet.

Tiny privates don't cut. They're all hard up for students and cash, if you pay tuition you can get a roster spot. Club and rec teams at state universities would crush the average no-name private college.

OP, you sound bitter that you suck at sports. You sound insecure and immature.

Are sports recruits full rides? Except for D1 ticket sports football, basketball, baseball, I always thought they were full-pays.

There is a whole world between full ride and full pay. Even D3 schools will find “merit aid” for athletes.

Even if some don't like that aspect, being in the middle of nowhere adds to the intensity of relationships and forces many to socialize with folks they might never have given a second thought to in a large university or school in the middle of a city.

Turns out to be a huge advantage during a pandemic.
