Bucks County, PA managed to get rid of all of the "moms for liberty" school board members.

That is great news!

Is this a Dem win? I didn’t know they had a vote. Not many people would turn up to vote for that, no?

Kansas is solid Republican.

But they voted to keep abortion rights. If the public is asked to vote directly, I believe most will vote for what is common sense on most issues.

Kansan here. It was a legislative vote that failed. It was an attempt to keep our only democratic representative, Sharice Davids, from re-election next year. Some Rs didn’t vote for it because they feared it would dilute the other districts too much.

I think they didn't vote for it because she threatened to run for US Senate if they did.

Maybe a Mitt Romney Republican can emerge from the morass.

It’s crazy how the party could adopt far left economic policies like tariffs and government ownership of companies…and nobody except Rand Paul raise their hand and say “what the f**k?”

Even the far left doesn't want tariffs the way Trump does it and the far left in the US has never suggested the US buy stakes in companies. There have been bailouts like the too big to fail banks or Chrysler, but those were not purchases and were done to stabilize segments of the economy.

Trump's tariffs are about personal grift and payoffs from countries and companies. It is as simple as that.

Notice how normally a sitting US president will campaign for key candidates in key states and Trump didn't do it once this cycle?

“New Jersey Democrats triumphed in Assembly races Tuesday, and are set to expand their majority next year after winning three long-sought seats in the 8th and 21st districts and threatening to flip four others.

The apparent victories will give Democrats a two-thirds supermajority in the lower chamber for the first time since 2019 and will expand their majority to its largest since the party won 66 seats in 1973 on the heels of President Richard Nixon’s impeachment.”

Representative Kevin Kiley, the California Republican who has been one of the most vocal opponents of Proposition 50, said in a statement that the election “fell well short of the ideals we ought to strive for in our democratic process,” and that he would continue to fight partisan gerrymandering. Mr. Kiley’s district becomes competitive for Democrats under the new map.

Likely we see a bunch of GOP "retirements" in the coming days.

It would be nice if some of these guys would side with Jeffries on the way out so we can end this mess.

Stressful time for Schumer right now. What with Congress shut down and now Mamdani winning.

He held low energy telerallies, whatever those are.

The NYT should run some articles about how Republicans need to listen to the concerns of ordinary Democratic voters.
