Breaking News: IDF expresses regret for killing Gazans.
The pressure campaign must be working. The ethnostate has entered a slippery slope. IDF says it’s probing Gaza City strike and regrets civilian harm after 5 reported killed https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/idf-says-its-probing-gaza-city-strike-and-regrets-civilian-harm-as-death-toll-reaches-7/ 19 December 2025, 10:34 pm Share The IDF says it is investigating after a strike in Gaza City this evening reportedly killed at least five people. According to the military, during operations on the Israeli side of the ceasefire line in the Strip’s north, troops spotted several suspects in “dominant structures” on the western side of the Yellow Line — meaning not in IDF-held territory. The army says the troops fired at the suspects following their identification but doesn’t say that they were armed or how they posed a threat. Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defense agency says it recovered five bodies killed in an artillery strike at a school-turned-shelter in Gaza City’s eastern Tuffah neighborhood. The agency says the majority of the victims were children and that others were injured. Palestinian media reported at least seven people killed by artillery shelling on a school-turned-shelter in Gaza City’s eastern Tuffah neighborhood. The IDF says that it is “aware of casualties in the area,” adding that the incident is under further investigation. “The IDF regrets any harm to uninvolved [civilians] and acts as much as possible to minimize harm to them,” the military adds. The Israeli strike appears to amount to a violation of the October ceasefire agreement. |
The US government spends billions subsidizing the fossil fuel industry. There are many things that the money could be better spent on. |
| Im sick of defending this terrible situation. We should not be funding the IDF |
I'm sick of self-righteous virtue signaling, a selective sense of what is fair or just, and single-issue litmus tests. |

A few billion here or there isn’t much to the US government. It’s less than .1% of the Federal budget, and most of it goes to US defense contractors. Americans spend more money sustaining child labor and slavery by buying coffee and chocolate.
What’s happening in Gaza is problematic, but there are bigger fish to fry than getting myopic about a people that won’t like us no matter what we do. |
It's not a few billion. It's hundreds of billions in direct aid and then trillions when you talk about all the wars being fought at the behest of Israel. And I wouldn't minimize the suppression of free speech and the right to boycott amongst other freedoms being suspended for a racist apartheid settler colonial nation that does nothing for us but bomb us as they did with the USS Liberty. |
| It’s only a few billion a year on an annual basis, and it’s mostly used to prop up US jobs. Could it be better used? Probably. But there are better things to spend our time on. I just can’t bring myself to care too much about people who won’t like us anyway. No matter what we do. |
It's been trillions of dollars for 80 years, during which time Israel has started wars, committed daily war crimes, destabilized the entire region, killed hundreds of thousands of people, directly killed American soldiers and Americans, and caused people to commit terrorist attacks against us because the US government funds the IDF. All of these are not allegations and can be easily verified. Now Israel wants a new 20 year defense funding guarantee, until 2048. How many domestic programs in America are guaranteed to be funded for 20 years at a time? This is not a ho-hum use of our money and there are real consequences abroad and in the homeland. People like you only seem to care when you accuse groups in Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine for accepting much way less money from Iran to get Israel and its war criminals out of Palestine. |
They don’t like us BECAUSE we facilitate their slaughter at the hands of Israel, because we interfere in their internal politics, and because we justify what we’ve done for weirdo religious and economic exploitation reasons. In their shoes, you wouldn’t hesitate to hate us even more than they do. Save the propagandized response cooked up by a bunch of mouth-breathing goons in Tel Aviv, who convince dimwits into believing the resentment has to do with anything else. |

We're wasting "aid" money on Israel for them to commit war crimes against Palestinians. And the zionist argument has been to say it's good for the US defense contractors.
Now Israel wants to build its own weapons to "eliminate, or at least significantly reduce, on external supplies," meaning the US. So why then should the US (1) keep giving aid to Israel for them to eventually not graciously support defense contractors; and (2) allow Israel to build a more robust defense industry that will help them weasel out of future arms embargoes?? Israel aims to build independent arms production to reduce reliance on US https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/pm-israel-aims-to-build-independent-arms-production-to-reduce-reliance-on-us/ Crime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he is working on an initiative to develop Israel’s independent munitions production with minimal dependence on the US — Israel’s primary defense partner and arms supplier — in the coming decade. “The most important thing is that we want to strengthen our independent capabilities… the central point is that I want to eliminate, or at least significantly reduce, our dependence on external supplies — even from very good and truly loyal friends like the United States. I want us to be as self-reliant as possible,” the premier continues. |
Face it, they don't like us because we don't embrace Islam and the idea of Islamic global expansion through violence. |
Right. Unless you're a pro-Palestinian fanatic, who cares? They bring retribution down on their heads and then look for others to blame for their own conduct. The U.S. defense industry is helped by foreign sales and by defense-related technology exchanges, a good thing. Weakening Palestinian terror group capabilities is also a good thing. Seems like a win-win. |
Bullshit. Turkey. Indonesia. Seemingly countless other Muslim nations you always cry about in your ridiculous attempts to justify Israel’s “right to exist” (despite the fact that no nation has a right to exist). No issues of this kind with any of them. It’s Israel. It’s been staring us in the face since Day 1. The Arab world’s resentment and hard feelings are dead center driven by our corrupt, disgusting support for Israel, which the rest of the world has been forced to see as the terrorist state it’s always been. |
So Arab hurt feelings should drive U.S. foreign policy? And the world should ignore the reality of Islamist Palestinian terror? Happily, only a few impotent pro-Palestinian zealots think that way. |
| You have to be soulless to think that the IDF doesn't do wrong. |
