Doesn't matter the title of a thread. "You" (obsessed with APE people) insert APE into every one regardless of the title or topic or question posed. Even this thread could/should have been more of a discussion about APE's position/advocacy regarding tech, rather than a continuing diatribe against APE itself and pushback against its tech statements no matter what the statements are, merely because they came from APE. |
Also not APE and tired of every conversation turning to APE. I don’t care if they post on DCUM or anywhere else. Don’t take the bait. |
Cool. I do the same. And tune in to Fox. Because of that, I know that APE members have appeared there and on other RW sources. You can't be a "Democrat" and spout RW talking points. Sorry not sorry. We have to talk about APE because they spend so much energy and hot air disrupting anything public education in Arlington. |
Not wanting 1:1 tech is not a right wing talking point |
|
Making noise about an issue that won't save money and is questionable whether it will produce the results you seek is what the RW wants. Chaos.
If you don't want your child to use iPads in K-2, opt out. Easy. Done. Don't let them use it at home like I do. But don't force a nonissue on everyone else. I like the 1:1 policy. |
Ha ha ha that APE is “disrupting education in Arlington” when they were the ones who wanted it NOT disrupted during Covid. Anyway, I have no love for APE, but tech in classrooms has gotten waaaay out of hand. I don’t care who the messenger is— we need less tech in ES, and now. In a few years there will be a reckoning where everyone realizes what a mistake it was to overuse the iPads & give a bunch of little kids internet access all day long. But it sucks for our kids in school right now. |
Do Kindergarteners really have access to the internet all day long? Because even my middle schooler doesn't... |
Exactly. It's not like K-2 is spending all day on iPads anyway. Fake news. |
So you're an open schools person. Which was/is APE. |
It's 2024. Isn't everyone an open schools person? Goodness. |
The reckoning is already happening. Every mainstream media source has stories against the overuse of iPads and Ed tech. |
The media that APE feeds into. |
Then stop talking about "learning loss". |
My God. APE and their supporters won't stop talking about the pandemic even today, and then gaslights everyone who brings up how awful they were in 2020-21. +1,000%. |
Yeah, the NYT is totally being driven by the views of APE. |
