Majorie reminded me of my mom. My mom didn’t start getting “big in the room” and obnoxious until her 50s/60s. If you know retirees in Florida that is how they appear (sans writing on the tees). Elderly people will do this. Marjorie is starting early guess. It’s a common phenom. Good for her - but some recognize it

I’d like to give a shout out to the SINGLE INDEPENDENT JOURNALIST, who bothered to take the time to actually fact check Katie Britt’s speech.
Not one of the 100’s of mainstream journalists from any of the major media corps bothered. They barfed up 100’s of “takes” but not one ‘em did any actual research.

Just watched this with husband who does not follow politics, and votes D. His take was she wasn’t bad and thinks Trump will select her. And they will point to the pile on as elites not only laughing at her, but at You (evangelical voter). The pile on plays into MAGA victimhood.

I’m beginning to wonder if the performance was as bad as it was in order to deliberately draw attention away from how good Biden’s performance was.

Except they didn’t know how good Biden’s speech was going to be when… whatever that was… was conceived and developed. 5 days ago Dems were setting the bar low a Rs were speculating about whether he could complete a coherent sentence. So no, nothing so banal as that. The men who run her party really think this is what the suburban women swing voters who gave us Biden and Youngkin one year apart want.

I think she overcomes this and is named VP. That overacting will do well on a big stage. She's pretty, young, willing to do whatever it takes.

She isn’t Trump. That’s the first thing. Normal rules just don’t apply to him. Second, Trump hates weakness and she looked very weak and gave an crappy performance. She’s just not prime time material. And thirdly, she wouldn’t be chosen as VP to win over your DH. They have most white men and choosing a woman doesn’t get them many more. The GOP need suburban soccer moms back to win. That’s why she would be chosen.

But she won’t. (Although if she was, what a gift that would be to Dems. And SNL).
