If true... I think it's smart, ECNL could form some really solid teams out of the merger. Meanwhile poor GA has watered down the area with FCV and VRSC. If ECNL wants to add a club back to the MA possibly there's another outside Northern Virginia, making their footprint bigger.
I don't think Brave was getting kicked out, the '08 girls are in the playoffs and the '10 and '11 aren't out of contention.
On the boys side the clubs are pretty equally bad, why not try to get one competitive team out of the deal. Offer the other kids regional league spots and those teams get more competitive.
So I don't think Mclean who was the first Club forced to merge and lost that partner is coming in with any more weight than Brave.
I think you'll see some coaches from both sides..
Brave getting kicked out of the ECNL is the fever dream of some spurned soccer Dad. They could win it all and he would post that...

Having to merge teams means that ECNL added terrible teams with a handful of players on each that will combine and form a semi decent team…
