| If Arlington doesn't need an ECNL partner, neither should Loudon. Both clubs are the Death Stars of youth soccer to begin with in the area. |
|
Some of these alliances are just about ECNL making sure MLSNext doesn’t get clubs under their umbrella.
Of course everyone always has a choice at U13, but I think a lot of parents will stick with the pipeline they know best at least the first year. Most parents and even most parents of really good players aren’t on this board and they are juggling multiple things. It isn’t until it’s really obvious their kid is in the wrong situation that they start looking around. On the off chance a Union or NVA gets a good kid from their ‘Alliance’ it seems worth it. |
I didn’t think NVA started until U13? I think kids stay with their respective feeder clubs at U11 and U12 with the top teams being called pre-ECNL. Unless that’s changing for next year? |
| ^ you are correct. I was saying that when they are old enough to try out for NVA the question of how the alliance works will be more fairly judged. |
Alliance favors Loudoun Soccer and nobody else. Valor and GFR don't benefit as they lose their players to this alliance. Its a marketing tactic to get kids to come to the smaller clubs dangling "ECNL" in front of them to lure them in. NVA is a joke and already looks like GFR is breaking off from them. |
I think at most if might convince a kid to stick with the alliance instead of jumping at U11 or U10 to a bigger club |
Updates? |
Personal opinion Matt is GREAT! |
Unsure about KB but I would bet on RP landing at Virginia Revolution because 1) they can afford to hire him and 2) compared to their current "coaches", he'd be like Sir Alex Ferguson. |
I can see that happening. They also have a large amount of European coaches at VR. He would be among friends. No idea about where KB would go. |
Strong team is an understatement. Aren't there five players from that team either currently in the NWSL or recently drafted, including the older sister? |
And what happens now to GFR players who had the realistic chance to try out at the alliance club NVA? Grooming was well underway. GFR still yet to announce any split from NVA although everyone on this board knows it. Are we just going to be told nothing and left to this internet board for the info? NVA’s ID sessions start soon and “invitation only” so who/how getting the invites now? What a bummer to be kept in the dark on this. |
Okay, so now the question is when?! When is all this goodness happening. Tick tock, the clock is ticking. ID sessions for clubs are in a few weeks and we have no vision into why stay at GFR, if there is no line of sight to ecnl or even who the coaches will be next season. There are some crazy talented age groups currently being told nothing about the future. Sigh. |
| GFR is not sending players to NVA for looks anymore. That should about sum it up for you. |
Are people really this dumb? If you want to try out at NVA you are free to do so. These alliances mean nothing regarding where you choose to tryout. |
