This is one of New York's wealthiest areas, they used to vote Democrat but somehow they turned stupid in 2022. They also voted for Lee Zeldin and voted for the R over Schumer.

Even a cursory search for endorsements by voter would have turned up the low quality of this candidate. One local weekly, the north shore leader, even flat out said.......

This newspaper would like to endorse a Republican for US Congress in NY3 (Oyster Bay, N Hempstead, NE Queens). But the GOP nominee - George Santos - is so bizarre, unprincipled and sketchy that we cannot. We endorse Democrat Robert Zimmerman.

How did Santos do it? He was bankrolled by Russian oligarchs. Vekselberg, Blavatnik, Deripaska. Those names sound familiar? They should, because they are also tied to Trump and many in his circle.

Time to completely end dark money. Time for total and complete financial transparency and to have severe penalties and ineligibility to run for office or participate in politics for violating them. We need to do this in order to restore trust in government and to take our government back out of the hands of foreign oligarchs and foreign interests.

Santos’s bio when he ran in 2020 claimed he graduated from Horace Mann (the Sidwell of NYC.) At some point someone must have called him on it because he erased it before the 2022 campaign. This week he claimed he went there but had to leave four months before graduating because of the 2008 recession, and they couldn’t give him a scholarship for the last few months because hundreds of other kids were in the same situation. Of course he never attended at all.
