I think trashy is really a lack of good taste and self esteem - not so much about lasck of money. It also may reflect a lack of intelligence and poor judgement (tattoos, smoking, bad haircuts/color, false eyelashed, dagger fingernails, etc.) - But all of these things cost money. It's expensive to look trashy. So let's not throw the poverty card into the discussion.
