National Weather Service: Stay on lower floors if you live near large trees

Good. Now my husband won't think I'm as crazy as he currently does, since I said we should all sleep in the living room tomorrow night.

Starting when? Did they give a time?
Kids already asleep upstairs and all is quiet...

The way it was written seemed to indicate after 8am Monday. It was vague, at least to me. We spend daytime in the first level anyway, but I do want to sleep down there tomorrow night at the height of the winds.

We're all sleeping in the basement now and the storm is not doing anything. Kids love it but as you can see I'm not.

The storm was never supposed to do anything until this afternoon PP. But at least you're all set up for the basement for Monday night.

Is the living room good enough, or do we need to trek to the basement do you think? I never would have wondered this until someone in another thread mentioned the possibility of the house caving down to the basement level...

My husband is pissed at me for having moved DS and myself downstairs last night. I'm glad I have the national weather service on my side now.

We're definitely planning to sleep on the 1st floor, not sure if we'll head for the basement. I have a fear of being trapped down there.

He was actually pissed at you for this? Wait, what? I can see eye rolling, but pissed? Tell me you mistyped. Or you should get counseling.

What if your lower level is flood prone? But you have large trees facing your home?

We are in the same boat. Just stay on 1st floor.

Yes, we'll be sleeping in the basement tonight (we'll wait until the wind picks up until we head down there though). If you slept there last night, that was probably just overkill.
