I'm a nanny and no news from my MB yet, if she HAS to go to work in this mess it's fair!
I think I will. Ours only works two days a week. What do you think OP, if I cancel should I still pay her for the day?
Op here : if your not working and still getting pay, in my opinion many should still get pay since she needs the money to pay her bills and the storm is something she can control, but if your not going to work and not getting pay you should talk to her and let her know what your plans are.
*nanny
I am not working tomorrow. I do not know about Tuesday.
I called our nanny and said no work Monday and Tuesday (though personally I would love her to be here). It;s unsafe- I know she was ok with being stranded here but it;s like my being stranded at my company- just not where you want to be. You'd rather be at home.
MB and I are going to touch base in the AM, but I am pretty sure I will be off. It will probably be unsafe to travel, so I think I will be stuck at home. I will get paid at 50%, as specified by our contract. MB is self employed and won't be able to work without me there, but since it is beyond any one's control we will split the difference.

I texted mine. She has off M-T for now.
possibly Wed, if the storm is that bad |
I gave my nanny off tomorrow. We will check in tomorrow night but I highly doubt I will go to work on Tuesday. It's going to be a pain fielding calls etc from home tomorrow with the kids but my insane work is not my nanny's problem.
PP here. I am also paying her. I get paid why shouldn't she?
We have a babysitter for Tuesday night for an anniversary date - I am hoping things will have calmed down by then but doesn't sound good.
