Are there grief groups for when we lose a family member (now that we are getting older)? A friend lost a sibling. NV area. Thanks.
The Haven of Northern Virginia offers both one-on-one counseling and bereavement groups. I believe that GriefShare (religious) has a group in Vienna; there might be others. If your friend can get into DC, the Wendt Center is supposed to be good.
Contact any of your local Hospice providers. ( better to start with the non profits ) They are the experts and will l point you in the right direction for your locality. They're the best, regrettably I speak from experience
Any particularly good ones in MoCo? I lost my mother and MIL in September. I'm having a hard time.
Why not start an informal group yourself? Discuss with others here on forum. Arrange small gatherings at a coffee shop or somewhere. Could also meet in your homes though maybe better to do that after getting to know one another better. Just gather & talk & listen. Goes a long way.
