We aren't members of a church, but attend one fairly regularly. We're never sure what's appropriate. So, I'm curious, what do you put in the collection basket when you attend religious services?
Nothing. We have our monthly donation auto deducted from our checking account.
We do $10-$20 depending on how much we can afford.
$20 a week. I could afford more, but I wrote in the other thread that I don't consider it my responsibility to make sure the sound system is up to date and there's new carpet in the foyer. I'm not one of those who believes in the literal tithe. $20 is what I feel comfortable with. I'm contributing to the basic maintenance of the church and its needs.
We also contribute $20.
$50, but we only go every other week.
$25/week. We make an annual pledge, so even if we don't attend church one week, we send it in (or double up the following week).
40 / week
None.
We also do auto deduct from our account, which breaks down to $20 a week. I do admire people who can tithe, but we can't. I try to make up for it by donating my time. I'm a Sunday School teacher, which basically means I'm committed to being in church every week, and it's a big time commitment with preparing the lessons. I like to think/hope that what I can't contribute in $, I offer in service.
$0-$5
$100 / week.
Right now, $60/week. As our situation changes from year to year, I try to increase our pledge. I would like to tithe, but we're nowhere near to it yet.
|
$40/week.
