Applying Out before It's Time

DC#1 is enrolled in a K-8 school. We are thinking of applying DC1 out at 4th grade. We would be very selective in where we applied though. We would not apply just to apply, if you know what I mean. We would be looking at schools for 4-12.
How common is this? If you do not get in where you want to go, how awkward is it to stay? Does your current school cooperate? How about if there is a younger sib still in the school? |
