If you are in Blair's Magnet Program or have been in the Program or are a parent of a magnet student, please let me know how many hours you spend on homework. Our child is in the Magnet Program and we find the amount of homework almost unbearable. Has anyone left the program because of the homework load or other reasons? If yes, why and how was the adjustment?

Yes, the magnet classes require many hours of homework per night. It really is a program where you have to love the subject matter in order to take on the commitment.

If your kid is thinking of leaving the program, the adjustment would depend on his home school, whether he has friends there, whether it has classes that meet his needs (if he got into the magnet, he's very bright).
