Where can a 45 y.o. woman go to hear live music, drink a little and relax

... without looking like a leatherette idiot? I just realized that I never fell out of love with live blues and beers. But I haven't been out like that in, um, more than a decade. I have a hunch that the most authentic options won't be in the city center or close-in, but I'm willing to be educated. Thoughts?

There's a blues and jazz supper club opening soon on Wisconsin in Bethesda.

Your own basement with a glass of wine and some headphones.

Why do you care what you look like?

I agree with OP..I like to see some music..open to genre and have a nice glass of wine but I don't want to be somewhere that only has 20 somethings..Wasn't there a place in Alexandria..it was upstairs? I am going back ykkks 15 years but I recall a place where you could listen to music and have a drink and the age ranged from 25-85..those kind of places I would be interested in hearing recent input. It is nice to go out and mix it up a bit.

The Mandarin Oriental has live music in their lounge area on Friday and Saturday nights. My DH and I have been several times. The lounge serves snacks and drinks and is a really nice atmosphere.
