Please recommend a hotel in Williamsburg

We want to take our 3-year-old to Christmas Town in Busch Gardens this December, but also want to visit colonial Williamsburg while we are there. Never been before and having a hard time figuring out where to stay. Ideally, we'd like to stay in a suite/apartment type hotel where our toddler can have a separate room, but that's also walking distance to either Busch Gardens or colonial Williamsburg (to minimize car time). Please help! Budget is $250/night max. Thank you!!!

We stayed in Kingsmill e few times but it isn't within walking distance. It has an indoor pool/spa/game complex that was nice.

I would recommend adjoining rooms in the Williamsburg Woodlands hotel. Right on the bus route to the historical sites, breakfast included, shuttle bus to Busch Gardens availalbe, discount on williamsburg tickets because you are in a hotel associated with the historical area. No indoor pool. No kitchen in room.

The Marriott has always treated us well. Outside the entrance a little ways. Indoor and outdoor pool.

Try Kingsgate. They are timeshare type hotels and offer 1 & 2 bedroom apartment style lodging. Check out tripadvisor for photos, reviews, etc.

Another recommendation for Kingsmill. They offer frequent shuttles to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.

Hampton Inn Williamsburg Historic District. Centrally located, but still in a quiet area. Very family friendly.

The Hospitality House is right off of WM's campus and walking distance to CW. Williamsburg Lodge is well located to CW also and much cheaper than the Inn.

We've stayed at the Williamsburg Lodge, the Woodlands and Kingsmill. Both the Lodge and Kingsmill rocks, but for children, Kingsmill hands down. Free shuttle to BG and Colonial Williamsburg. We love Willaimsburg!!!

Kingsmill was great, we got a fireplace suite with a balcony view of the river last winter and enjoyed the indoor pool, the fireplace gameroom, and exploring the sandy beach down by the marina. Did not even get to the playground or coffee shop. Full kitchen, dining table, nice interiors. Breakfast was also good, the kids liked the custom pancakes. There is an enormous grocery store right outside the gates. Only con was unless you are in a building very close to the sports complex, it's a lot of walking, which is actually nice if it is warm out. Good location for the lovely drive to Jamestown, or Busch Gardens, but not walkable. Looked like the Williamsburg Lodge had a good location for the old city.
Historic Powhatan Resort is the other one we have looked at. Condo-type units, a duck pond and historic manor, and right nearby is a huge county playground called Kidsburg.

We just stayed in the Colonies of Williamsburg. It's technically a time-share, but they are still building and if they have open rooms they rent them out. We were concerned we'd have to hear a sales pitch, but never did. They have an amazing indoor pool (with basketball hoops and floating turtles), and are about 10 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg. We had a fantastic time and will be returning in December for Christmas Town as well!

We got a 2br suite (they have 1 and 2br's) so DD (5.5 months) could have her own room. All high end finished in the place, INCLUDING a washer/dryer. Highly recommend!

Have stayed at Kingsmill and Residence Inn. Would recommend both.

We also love Kingsmill! The shuttles make visits very easy.

Marriott Suites are super nice. Newport News is close - lots of cheap lodging there.
