An interview from 2022 in which she proudly says she auditions for roles as an actor but when they hire her she reveals she wants a lot more responsibilities in order to “feel fulfilled.” It’s amazing how stupid she is to actually say this in an interview. But this is someone who wrote “la face Oakland booty” so not surprising. If she were just dumb I don’t think she would be getting this much hate, it’s the additional factor of being a classic mean girl that gets people going I think.

The most interesting part for me: someone told this columnist that producer Todd Black left the film after his hiring out of disgust for Lively and had to be paid more by Sony and Wayfarer to return. Todd Black is probably the party described with high praise along with her praising Jamey Heath in Baldoni’s timeline including the texts- the producer who is not Heath has their name redacted. Black is a serious dude in that business with a great rep. I'm a little skeptical of this article. Some of it rings true (I'm sure Sony and Disney are annoyed about being dragged into this fight, though it's actually Baldoni who is dragging in Disney). But the "source" starts off by saying studios are unhappy with Lively for costing them money on IEWU. This doesn't make sense because the movie's gross far exceeded expectations and it made a lot of money (grossed $350m on a $25m budget, even accounting for any cost overruns).

I believe people might be reticent to work with Lively right now but don't buy that it's because she cost the studio money on this movie. Because she didn't. I get why they were upset about wardrobe costs during filming because there was no guarantee the movie would earn what it did. But after the fact? This movie wasn't even very good and it was a hit. That actually speaks to Lively's bankability, even if she is a nightmare to work with.

Maybe. But the movie was a success despite BL, is my sense. It was based on a super popular book, and at the end of the day, JB was the one who filmed it not her. I’m also not sure how profits are distributed so she could very well have cost somebody money here. at the end of the day, she’s just not a big enough star to be worth all the trouble she clearly creates on set.

This sounds introspective to me. If she actually did make it clear when signing on with Wayfarer that she wanted to collaborate, I don't see an issue there. Clearly they got more than they bargained for and regret not making her sign her contract right away lol.

DP. I feel like I watched a different interview or something. It's clear to me she's saying that when she was younger she used to people please in initial conversations about movies and then only once she was working on the movie would she start to express her ideas and want to have input, and she understands how that must have seemed like a "rug pull" to people because she wasn't being honest from the jump about how she wanted to participate.

But then she goes onto say that she's learned from that and now she tells people from the start she wants to collaborate and not "just" be an actor, and she can tell who to work with based on how receptive they are to that. Agree with PP it sounds introspective. It does seem like she was honest with Wayfarer from the start that she wanted to be a collaborator -- she asked for a producer credit from the start and it's clear from the messages between her and Baldoni that he was at least telling her he wanted to collaborate and have her be part of the process.

So at least in this instance, it doesn't look like she tried to mislead them -- it seems like they knew how involved she wanted to be from the start, agreed to it, but then later regretted it?

If you really take your time with Baldoni’s complaint, Livelys duplicity is overwhelming. A podcaster who worked in the business and is currently married to a tv director of photography read through everything and cross-referenced his timeline against her complaint, explaining where her encroachment started becoming aberrant behavior. Pod is called Daily Dose of Dana; it’s clear she does not like Candace Owens.

A 4th AD on the first film Lively did with Anna Kendrick left public comments on actor Henry Golding’s Instagram a week ago stating that Lively was bullying and horrific to work with. She is a real person with a real IMDB profile. Lipstick Alley picked it up from somewhere.
