179 pages dedicated to giving credibility to a worthless league and its corrupt coaches forming a new club to keep a job (not professionals, not elite coaches - bums, washed-up). Leadership, empathy, and real interest in the development of the soccer player, a team, and ultimately, “young men” - what this sport of soccer should be for teenage boys - it is a sad state of affairs.

And for any of the teenage boys not playing ECNL, don’t feel for a second you are any less of a player or young man. In anything you do, including soccer, it is resilience, integrity and heart that matters. Never count yourself out!

i hear u but my ds is going to mlsnext next and is better than urs…and that does matter. Why post otherwise? Sorry if ur kid lost a roster spot… better keep that car serviced and get to driving…. So we can see u on the other side o the pitch

That is mean, shame on you. “My kid is better than yours “. Not good. Remember they are still kids and you really never know who will be successful until in the future regardless of soccer. Grades and academics are what matters in the end. That is where everyone in this board needs to look at and hopefully everyone’s kid becomes successful based on academics. Unless your DS is a Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo (none got formed in the U.S by the way). The best you can look up to here is Pulisic. Just FYI. Stay focused folks

McLean parents have always seemed to get especially hurt by losing to teams made up of people they deem to be "lower class."

And now they are moving over to Arlington. Joy joy for all of us that will have to share sidelines with these asshats.

I'll probably get pilloried for this, but to all the talented boys out there with normal, non-overbearing parents, I'd like to extend an invitation to Alexandria MLS Next. They have a stable organization, a club-wide philosophy, provide buses to away games, have some decent (and improving) coaches, have reasonable club fees, and could use a talent influx at most age groups except maybe the youngest. The parents I know are, for the most part, not entitled or delusional about their sons' abilities and it's a good culture. The organization does a great job integrating with the local community and provides lots of soccer opportunities for everyone. Field space is consistent, although shared at times. ASA is constantly working with the city to help get more fields lit and provide more space. There are definitely things I'd like to see change, like more of a focus on individual player development, but on the whole it's been a great experience.

Yes there are politics as in any club but nothing compared to McLean. Good environment.

To actually answer this question rather than shift to politics and entitlement, yes, outside players were looked at and assessed for skills with the last McLean merger and some teams took on a fair number of non McLean or syc players.

Based on what seems to be happening, teams have offers out to must-have players, majority are accepting, and others are waiting for this weeks ID sessions for another round of offers. By then, a few player might have chosen to go elsewhere but coaches seems to indicate they will move ahead with smaller rosters — higher skills and more playing opportunity, hopefully.
