Looking for daycare in old town Alexandria - inhome or otherwise

We will be moving to old town in December and I will be going back to work in January. Our baby boy will be 5.5. mos old by then and we are frantically searching for daycare options for him. It seems most of the centers in the area have very long waitlists.

Any advice on quality in-home day cares which may have openings? Any other advice? We would welcome it!!

Blue Bird on Duke St is opening an infant room in January 2013. Based on reviews from others we know sending their kids there for many years an who have been happy with it, we are planning on sending our DS there once open.
