DC Resident: Random check back from DC Government?

| Did anyone else receive a small random check back from the DC Government this week? Ours is around $50 and has no indication of what it is for and what agency issued. A tax overpayment? A car registration overpayment? A little bonus for 10 years of fun living in a transitional neighborhood? |

Maybe a year from now you will be notified you need to return the money plus additional taxes on it.

Did you recently sell/get rid of/switch cars? We sold a car and got a new one and then got a check in the maiil for the remainder of our car registration on the car we got rid of. There was no note or indication of what the check was for, but the peop,e at DMV had told me it would be coming. Was for right around $50.

| August like two months ago? That's probably what it was. We also sold ours around August and had just renewed the registration in June. The remainder was refunded to us. |
