seamless web DC

has anyone used seamless for delivery or carry out? is it fast? are they accurate about delivery times? any downsides?

i remember something like this in college - menupages? - something like that and it was horrendouse - they offered a TON of restaurants, but deliveries took forever and came late and cold - although that may have been because menupages had their own guy picking up and dropping off the food, so it was an extra step...

I've used it for a variety of restaurants, in NW DC. Not recently, though (this was a few years ago). Sometimes it was fine. Sometimes it was slow, and the food arrived cold. It seemed to depend on the restaurant I ordered foor from.

I don't get the purpose. Why not just call the restaurant itself? Always wondered about that.

Because you can see many food choices in one place, and I much prefer to order online vs needing to call someone. OP, we use it and like it. From one specific restaurant, the food took forever to arrive, but it wasn't cold. With other restaurants, delivery hasn't been slow.

Because most of the restaurants don't deliver on their own. DC is not NYC. Yet.

We use it (mostly in Alexandria but gave also used it in Seattle!) never had any problems.
