OK I admit it - i have waited until the verrrry last minute, I failed to consult any other moms about this - and I created something for my first ever bake sale. I thought it was going to be brownies and it turned out to be regular old chocolate cake. A one layer sheet cake. I cut it up into 8 equal pieces, about 3.5-4" square, wrapped them in waxed paper and sealed them with a piece of tape. I am working full time, I have never done this before. I have to drop them off at 7:30 tomorrow morning (DC is away at the beach with grand parents!) Is this acceptable bake-sale fare? Please tell me! Will I pass...?*
*it's organic!

Sell them as mini cakes. Can you frost them? Or drizzle melted chocolate on them for a little pizzaz? Put a cute little ribbon on each one--can't hurt.
As a last ditch effort, you could crumble them up in a bowl, whip cream, and fruit and make a triffle. What matters is that you helped, they'll be fine and totally acceptable. Good job! |
Little kids like cake without frosting so I think you are fine.
It's fine. I've bought those raw cookie dough things and made those, I've made boxed banana or pumpkin bread - it all goes over just fine.
Just make sure the packaging is attractive. Too many bake sales have smooshed food for sale, yuck.
Sounds delish!
