melissa button vs. veronica slouch

Anonymous
i decided to splurge and get a pair of frye boots, far more expensive than any i have ever gotten before. ordered two pairs to see which i like better, and of course i like both. any opinions on which are more useful? veronica slouch are probably slightly more comfortable although both are quite comfortable. melissa button looks slightly more refined for work; veronica slouch looks a bit more like i would wear with jeans on the weekend.

I have neither, though I do have a pair of Fryes that I love. I personally think the Veronica Slouch pair is really, really cute (may need to get a pair myself!), but I work from home and live in blue jeans.

The Veronica ones are a little too tough looking for me. I love my Melissa Buttons and wear them with everything.

I have the Melissa Button and LOVE them. I will say that they get substantially more comfortable as you wear them - like Danskos or Birkenstocks, they really mold to *your* feet after a few wears. I just returned from a week in Europe and wore them all day, every day (walked at least 7 miles each day) - they held up really well, looked sophisticated, and were very comfortable.

i think i'm between sizes in the melissa button. would you suggest going up or down? my heel is slipping a bit in the larger size.

I love the Veronica ones. They're much more my style. I wore them daily last winter from the time it got cold enough, and I can't wait until my baby's born (and my feet stop swelling) so I can wear them again!

I love the veronica. I just recently splurged on the paige trapunto. It was such a hit to my wallet I'm acutally afraid to wear them. To those who own Frye's, did you weatherproof them or anything?

Europe PP here: Go down - they stretch a lot. The smaller size may take longer to break in and will be harder to get in and out of for longer, but they will ultimately fit you better. I went up a half size because I am pregnant and worried about swelling... after stretching a bit they are a little big so I need to wear thick socks.

I didn't, but have used my Coach leather conditioner on scratches on them.

I need to stop reading this thread. The Paige Tapuntos are gorgeous, too.

I have the Melissa, but now that I have seen the Veronica....I want them!

I too desire, desire, desire some Fryes for this year (and the next 15... an investment...)

Could you wear Veronica's with dresses? Can't tell from photo.

op: yeah, you can wear with casual dresses (i'm wearing them with a dress today), certainly not a suit or dressy dress.
