This pertains to Virginia Hospital Center, and maybe to other hospitals. We signed up for the hospital's 1-day birth class that takes place all day on a Saturday. I just discovered that my doctor's practice (Arlington Women's Center) offers a similar class, but it is a few hours shorter and takes place on a Sunday.
They look like they cover the same topics. Of course, the shorter class sounds better (we would just take the hospital tour separately). But does anyone have any experience about recommending one versus the other? Or did you particularly like your class? Thank you! |
We took a 1-day class at VHC 4 years ago before my daughter was born. It was fine but seemed quite long. I think I would be inclined to take the shorter class if you feel it covers the same topics.
As for taking a tour, there's really not much to see - it sounds like you will deliver there in any event. The only thing you probably want to make sure you know is where to go to check in (during the day and after hours) and what you need to do to pre-register. Your practice can probably explain both of those to you or you can walk over yourself one day to inquire. |
Thank you - that helps a lot! |
