Edible roses

Anonymous
Does anyone know where I can find edible roses? My neighbor is getting married on Sunday and has her heart set on candied rose petals on ivory cupcakes. I can bake the cupcakes and know how to candy rose petals but need safe roses! Trader Joe's was a no. Whole Foods has had me on hold for 17 min.
Any suggestions?

Balduccis? I know I've seen them before. Either there or at WF. I've seen edible flowers though, not just rose petals.

Great idea. I'll call Balduccis in the morning. WF said no over the phone, but I'm not positive the woman actually knew what I was talking about.

AC Moore or Michael's craft stores have a boatload of cake decorating stuff...

Roses are still blooming in many gardens. Any neighbors with a rose bush or two? Most of us don't spray our roses, so that makes them safe. Any rose is "edible" and all taste pretty much the same...though not sure you'd WANT to eat them without the sugar!

Post your question on the shopping and cooking section at Don Rockwell. Someone there will know.
