Anyone else find Flo Rida's song disgusting

Song is Whistle. It was in radio, and there I was whistling to the catchy song, when it hit me - this song is about blow jobs! So a dj can't say the word for fear of fines, but this song can play? I know I sound like an old bitty, that there are many songs about all kinds of things, but this was too much for me as a mom. Ugh

What do you think Rock and Roll means?

I think it's going to go over the head of kids. I wouldn't worry about it.

This can't be the first song you have heard that mentions bj's right?
Anonymous
agreed, it is a disgusting song.

Same thing happened to me -- I would actually sing the chorus (only) at the top of my lungs with DS9 in the backseat.

Then one day I actually listened to the lyrics and was duly mortified I'd been verbally encouraging all listeners to suck my weener "real slow" (I'm a woman).

Then two days later DS, I'm not making this up, asked me why anyone would write a song about learning how to whistle? What's next, writing a song about learning to ride a bike, or tie your shoes?

lol It took a while for me to pay attention to what it was about. I like it though.

"Relax" -- says Frankie

I think it goes too far. I'm sick of this bj pressure on teen girls, and boys' expectation that they should freely ask for and get something for nothing.

This happened to us! Was in the car with DD7, whistling along to that catchy bit, then heard the lyrics and realized what the song was about. Disgusting!

Hate to break it to you -- Let me take a ride on your disco stick is not actually talking about a big walking stick you take to a dance club......

Oh please, "Disco Stick" is no better and OP is not being a Puritan here. Songs are getting less and less opaque in their references (like, say, Rihanna's "S&M", which my daughter heard once and thought all the letter repetition was great fun).

I like pop music and listen to the radio a lot, but some of it is just so over the top, and I don't approve at all of letting kids hear it. My daughter hears the whistle part of the Flo Rida song first and gets all excited because she loves whistling. Sorry, hon, this song is about a man telling a woman how to blow him, next!

When my DD was a tween I didn't censor the music but I did have conversations with her about the misogyny in a lot of lyrics. She recently thanked me for that.

Really? You didn't know that "can you blow my whistle baby" was about a bj?

That's the first line.

Exactly right... boys should pay up... this is a market driven economy.
