Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I suppose I need support... or a suggestion.
Nausea came on like a tidelwave about 10 days ago, just post-ovulation. Took 2 hpts, each before AF was due and each with very faint lines leaning positive. (I assumed this was because I was taking the test so early.) Then, the nausea stopped on a dime two days ago and today AF is due. I didn't see the point in taking another HPT unless I don't see AF for a few days. Any suggestions? |
| That makes sense. It could be a chemical pregnancy. Charting morning temperature is another good way to tell. |

Hi, I just had the exact same experience, though got my BFP on 9 days after ovulation. I felt pregnant, but that feeling went away on day 10. I tested again and it was negative. ;( Bloodwork showed that it was an "early loss", or a chemical pregnancy. Something like 50% of conceptions end this way, and I wouldn't have detected it if I hadn't tested so early. Next month I'm not testing until day 14.
If it's any comfort, my RE said that this actually bodes well for my fertility. The chemical pregnancy was just a fluke - and proves that I can still get pregnant at age 40. Good luck to you! |
| FWIW, I have these (chemical pregnancies) all the time... about every other month, actually... and I'm 45! |
| PP, are you trying to conceive and only having chemical pregnancies? Do you disagree that having a chemical may bode well for conceiving and carrying a baby to term? Just curious... |
Let's not jump to conclusions. The pregnancy symptoms wax and wane. I've been successfully pregnant 2xs and both times I had o pregnancy symptoms until 6-8 weeks-NONE except positive pregnancy. Then at 8 weeks, I was sick as a dog until 20 weeks. |

OP here.
Just got back from the gyn; she didn't have any reason suspect ectopic. She first told me the preg test was negative and she suspects my pains to be related to ovulation; sometimes cysts cause pains after ovulation (even 2 weeks late). Then she told me she rechecked the preg test and it had a very faint line, so I am in fact preggo. Will send me for an ultrasound and blood work, but all signs point to an early pregnancy. So it's awfully early, I suspect, and I'll try to hold back until I know everything is a-okay. |
