Can we change the symbol for the smiley face away from 8)?

I see many posts (including one I just did) where someone means to post 8 ) and ends up posting 8)

Is there a way to change this symbol so that it is clearer how people want to be read? Or perhaps a way to tell the website that when there is a right parenthesis before it (, then it should not work?

I completely agree. I can't count the number of times I've seen rookies do it by accident and then post a follow up saying they don't know where that smiley came from.

And he doesn't look all that cool anyway. That ray-ban look is so 5 minutes ago.
