Painful transfer

Anonymous
Had my transfer today and it was pretty painful. This is my 3rd one and by a new doctor but as usual, i cramped really bad once the catheter was in my uterus. Has this ever happened to anyone? If so, did you get a BFP or BFN? I worry that the cramping makes my uterus contract and affects the embryo.

I had this for my last two transfers. Sorry to say, BFN, though my RE was not concerned.

I had this during my cycle that got me my only BFP! So sorry OP, I know it's worrying. Just try to keep calm and carry on...

I also had some cramping and like you, I was worried but was BFP. So try to relax - easier said than done but it's a time when there are a lot of emotions and the slightest thing makes you wonder if something is wrong.
Good luck!!!

Thank you for you responses. Yes worrying def won't help. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who experiences this. Congrats on the BFPs!

OP-- ask your RE for a valium before transfer. My first transfer resulted in incredibly painful cramping. I was lying there thinking, "God, is this what labor is like???" After I spoke to my RE about it, he suggested a valium for next time, and I never had cramping like that again. Good luck to you! FWIW, my RE said he didn't think cramping after transfer effects results at all.

Thank you PP. I am glad to hear that Valium works. I plan to do that next time. I didnt do it this past time b/c I didn't have anyone else to drive me.

My first transfer was very painful, but the second one was so easy I had a hard believing the embryo really got in there. In 2ww now
