Hi,
We are traveling to Greece and would appreciate any tips for getting our very squirmy 11 mth DD to sleep on the plane. She has gotten into the habit of putting herself to sleep, great at home, not so good for travel. She is also too long for the bassinet that the airlines provide! TIA |
Get a seat for her on the plane so she can snuggle into her carseat. Put her in her PJs at bedtime, read a story, and if she'll take a pacifier give that to her.
Since most flights to Europe are overnight, she should be fine. The noise of the plane and the engine humm usually soothes babies. Good luck! |
Ours never did or does sleep on planes at 10 months, 11 months or at 2 years. However, she would sleep while I had her in a baby sling on me (Beco carrier) during layovers. I would just stroll with her while she snoozed. I think the idea of a car seat may work though. Good luck! Kids are pretty resilient. When I took mine to Europe at 10 months, she was up for nearly 20 hours and then once we settled her into her crib, she slept for 20 hours straight.
And yes, the bassinet wouldn't have worked for us either. |
