Infertility Support and Discussion

I am so mad that I didn't ask this today at the Dr. and am dying to know. I'll call in the a.m. but though I'd pose the question here. I am going to get a FSH blood test and the Dr. said to come in on day three of my cycle. It could very well be, now that I look at the calendar, that my next day 3 is a Saturday or Sunday. Is that is the case and the office is closed, do I just have to wait for the next month or is it ideally the third day and you can do it 2nd or 4th?
Thanks for any help. |
| You need to do it the 3rd day of red blood. Most RE's have hours on Saturday or Sunday to accommodate this kind of thing. Check with your RE. |
| Some places will do it on day 2 or 4, but the preference is for day 3 (I think this is because there is some uncertainty as to what day 1 is for some women -- it can be hard to decipher spotting from full flow). Anyway, I've never had any trouble getting my blood work done on a weekend. Most RE offices are open 365 days a year. |
| You can also get the day three test done at LabCorp. My RE did not mention that option, but when I asked about it, they said it was fine. Some LabCorp offices are open on Saturdays (and some locations may be open on Sundays, i'm not sure). I have limited insurance coverage and it was cheaper for me to get the test done at LabCorp plus they has longer Saturday hours than my RE. |
