I have my 2 week post op tomorrow and I'm not sure if I am supposed to take of those band-aid/ tape things that go over the incision. ( I'd rather do it myself than have the Dr. rip them off - along with layer of skin). Silly question, I know... |
I didn't have a C-section, but when I have had other surgeries and the drs have used tape I don't remember anyone ripping them off. You just wait till they fall off on their own. |
I left mine on and had the doctor remove them. Didn't hurt at all. |
Leave them on until they fall off on their own. |
I waited and had the midwife remove my tape, but she said I could have taken it off myself if I'd wanted to. |
My Dr. did it at the 2 week appointment. But it really didnt hurt much. |
i left them on until they fell off. the dr may have taken the last few off, but i don't remember it being a big thing. (and i'm a wimp about that kind of stuff) |
not a silly question at all..i had 2 c-sections and let the MD take off the surgical tape at post partum appt |
I was told to wait until they fell off on their own. I'm sure I started picking at them when I felt that I was healed, I can't stand stuff like that on my skin and I'm a rule breaker. |
My doc told me to just let them fall off. I didn't go back to the doctor until the 6 week mark. |
My doctor said the tape would peal off by itself but it hadn't by the time I went in to my follow-up appointment. She then told me to pick it off in the shower, which I slowly did over the course of several days. It eventually all came off and didn't hurt at all. |
God-I can't remember and it wasn't that long ago. I know they were there but can't remember how they came off ![]() |
Let the DR take them off for both of my c's. why mess with it? |
My OB said I could take them off myself before the 2 week appt, or leave them on for her to take off. I was more comfortable with her removing them. It didn't hurt at all when she took them off. |
