Defend your record. |
inherited, bush, great depression, uh uh uh hope, change...he has nothing else to say. he can't defend his record because he doesn't have one. how many years have we been listening to this shit? I know what he is going to say before he says it. |
I hate to respond but find myself wondering...if you walked into a job where a depression was literally looming, wouldn't you bring that up in your reviews? |
Again DEFEND what you DID. Stop talking about what happened before. Defend YOUR record. Stop talking about the last guy. |
And talking about your grandparents -- you mignt want to clear out the den, because if Romney's elected, they'll be moving in. |
Right but has had 4 years to do something about it. What he DID was shove Obamacare down our throats during a financial meltdown. His record sucks and he cannot defend it based on the past 4 years. Not sure the alternative is better, that's the sad part. |
And he has done something about it.
Saved the auto industry. Avoided financial meltdown. Created net positive private sector jobs. Passed health care reform, which is already saving families money. |
The thing is, the GOP said from the very beginning that they would make sure that Obama was a one-term president. To me, that says, that they had no intention of working with him from the start. So, how much do you think was going to get accomplished w/a House & Senate majority. It's an accomplishment that Obama got anything done.
So, there's not much you can say to Romney supporters that's gonna get through anyway. Let them go ahead & vote for their flip-floppin' robot. It says alot when Romney's own party isn't crazy about him, either. |
Which political party wants their opponent to have 2 terms? |
To discuss what Obama has done, there are two aspects.
One is how you measure it -- where we are now versus (a) where we were before or (b) where we would be if McCain were elected. To use (b) is guesswork, so we use (a), which means looking at what Bush left behind. The other is that the President does not act alone -- Congress passes the laws. That leaves us arguing how to divide the credit or blame for whatever has happened. Some of us are predisposed to give Obama the benefit of the doubt, and some of us are predisposed to just give him the doubt. It will always be hard to agree on even the most basic issues. |
Stop denying history. Stop denying the facts. Recognize the true powers and the true limitations of the Presidency.
President Obama inherited financial mess from the Bush Administration. That is historical fact and it is part if the Obama legacy. So when individuals consider the successes and failures of the Obama Administration they must consider its starting point. If they fail to do so they are being intellectually disingenuous. |
