We just had to add a sump pump into the recently renovated bathroom in our basement. It's in the corner, between the wall and toilet, but I'm wondering what can be done to make it look "nice", or at least not a huge eyesore. We'll be having contractors put the bathroom floor and drywall back in soon, and wondered if anyone has any ideas of what to put over the sump pump. We obviously cannot tile over it. Do you just cut the tile around it? Put a rug over it?
Build a wall and door if it bugs you that much.
Is it pretty much flush with the floor? If so, I'd have a wooden piece put over it, maybe with some trim and painted to match the room, then put a moveable storage unit of some sort over it - something you can move if needed.
