Online profiles hurting college admission chances

This should really come as no surprise, but yet, I was a bit surprised to see it in writing:

Thankfully my kids are young enough to head this off at the pass. Others with high schoolers may want to print this out and show it to their future applicants.

This doesn't seem at all surprising. The cases cited include a kid kicked out of school for disciplinary issues? There are bigger issues there than the "online profile"!
