| Besides becoming president can sidwell parents suggest ways to improve our odd of getting in? |
| Get a letter from a trustee. |
|
Be yourself. Follow the directions on the website. There is no "magic" formula, even a letter from a trustee.
|
| Uh, don't be yourself if the "real you" is a PITA parent or helicopter parent or really crunchy or really bland or aggressive or mean. They are looking for families who contribute to the community, not families who are simply boring or who are really annoying. While they may take a few of the latter, you won't be helping your chances if you show up all aggressive about "what can you do for my genius kid, huh?" |
That won't help. Now if you are a trustee it's a good bet your kid will be accepted. And being an alum of the school is definitely no guarantee. I speak from experience on this point. |
| It's kind of like the lottery, especially in the lower grades. Luck has as much to do with it as anything else. |
| Make sure your child can handle the workload before you put him/her through the process. |
| Throw a football really well. Run very fast. |
It helped our friend's kid, that's why I posted it. Of course, that family had a lot else going for them, which is how they came to be buddies with a trustee in the first place, but I'm not going to spill someone else's personal details. |
| Sounds like the kid was tops any how. Friends of a trustee seems like extra. so what? |
... any more than you already have, right pp?
|
| that was meant for 12:39, not 13:13 |
| Apply early and often - meaning it may take a few tries to get in so your best bet is to start in prek |
I'm pretty sure this happens a few times every year. |
| Be a same sex multi racial.couple. |
