favorite bubbly?

Buying a bottle of bubbly for a friend to celebrate a milestone. Can spend up to $100.

What's your favorite brand?

I've gotten Dom Perignon as a gift many times. I think it's about that price point.

I like Veuve Clicquot. You can find bottles less than $100.

Dom Perignon is about $100 and is the traditional special/milestone champagne. Personally, I don't think it's what it's cracked up to be. I prefer Veuve Clicquot or Roederer at a little less than half the price. Pol Roger and Perrier Jouet are also nice.

This answers a different question, not for a special gift, but Gruet is great for everyday drinking at about $18.

Same here. We get it at Costco for just under $40. Yum!

Veuve is good, but I prefer the white label (sweet) to orange. Harder to find though. PJ is also a little on the sweet side.

Veuve, PJ, and Piper H as PPs mentioned. All good. But don't get bubble for someone that doesn't love it, it's a waste of money. Seriously. My DH can't tel seltzer w/a splash of wine from Dom.

Salmon Billecart rose ..a little different and special, SIMILAR pricing to veuve...

This is a good point. If there's something else you know they like to drink, you could also consider that. $100 will buy a very nice bottle of Scotch, or bourbon, or cognac, or cabernet ....

If it's just that champagne's traditional for celebrations, I'd stick in the $40-50 range, not spring the $100 for Dom.

Alsatian cremants pack a great bang for your buck - ask at Schneider's or similar wine-importing store.

Salmon Billecart rose - A real favorite of mine. Was not available in VA for a while, now Arrowwine has it. Superb

Not meaning to highjack, but hopefully this only helps your decision OP- I really prefer a drier more traditional champagne and don't like the sweeter varieties - I'd love to know where these things fall on that scale.
