An old friend is staying in downtown Baltimore this weekend. The only time that our schedule works to get together is Saturday morning. We're thinking of maybe just finding a kid-friendly place where we can catch up and let my 2yr old play for an hour or two. I.e. a combination Starbucks and nearby playground are perfect, but probably not what you find in the Inner Harbor area. I haven't spent any time there so have no ideas.
Any recommendations appreciated! |

My friends who live in Baltimore and have a toddler like Patterson Park, so maybe Patterson Perk coffee, which looks to be near the playground on the south side? 2501 Eastern Avenue.
For what it's worth we have been to their favorite neighborhood hangout, Ale Mary's, which looks like a bar but is very kid friendly with a full menu (kid's menu, tater tots!) and opens at 10 am on Saturdays... |

If you are only meeting for coffee, I would just go to the Inner Harbor itself on Pratt street with a 2 year old (but be careful!!). You can look at the boats and the birds, etc. I'm not sure where I would buy coffee there though.
You can see the same at Fells Point (where Broadway dead ends - any cabbie knows it) - it's on the water, and it has a coffee shop right in front of the water - the Daily Grind. I was there yesterday actually. It's a cute place to walk around. I actually think I might pick fells point over the harbor come to think of it. |
| And Fells Point has a great diner (it looks like a dive and it might be packed, but the breakfast food is awesome) - I think it's called Jimmys, and it's maybe 1 block from the Daily Grind on Broadway. |
