Has this memo kind of thing happened before in any election? When I apply for a people manager job for a 5 people organization, I am expected to have perfect communication, and people skill... and someone applying for President of America is ok to be poor in those skills! I understand the tactics of lowering the expectations strategy, but a memo to pont out how weak he is!

Yes. And it's also popular by WH staff prior to a SOTU. Welcome to Washington.

George W. Bush was the master of lowering expectations. In fact, he did it so well, he served two terms, one of which he was elected to.

OMG I get lowering expectations, but the statement put out by Beth Meyers? That was just nuts. Lowering expectations is one thing, but she pretty much said "don't judge, he got kicked by a horse when he was a kid".

BTW Thank You to the Romney camp for providing the final verdict on Obama's skills at the podium:

She said "President Obama is a uniquely gifted speaker, and is widely regarded as one of the most talented political communicators in modern history".

I shall reprint this every time panty sniffer posts about teleprompters.

This is standard practice, used by both sides in almost every election. Don't get the vapors.

Whatever, Beth Myers. I could debate your bullshit memo on many points, but I'll pick one - energy costs. Get the data, bimbo. Cost rose precipitously under the last Republican we were stupid enough to elect, not incoincidentally because he and his neocon buddies started two distabilizing wars in the Middle East. And let's not forget that your lame-ass candidate wants to start a third one with Iran. Obama has increased domestic oil and gas production to the point where our exports are at their highest levels in decades. And your candidate is going to lower energy prices, how, exactly?

From 2 weeks ago - Obamd team lowers expectations: http://m.yahoo.com/w/legobpengine/news/obama-team-tries-lower-expectations-debates-205259049.html?orig_host_hdr=news.yahoo.com&.intl=US&.lang=en-US

Strategy seems like a no-brainer to me. Would you rather viewers were saying "wow I expected much more out of him and he sucked" or "wow I thought he was going to suck but he hit it out of the park"?
