Camp Fire USA Clubs - not the old Camp Fire Girls!

Looking for an inclusive, youth program for your elementary-aged kids that does all those fun things while earning emblems? Consider joining a Camp Fire USA family club. We are inviting families to come learn more about Camp Fire's mission to help youth ignite the spark of fun, friendship and service!

There are clubs in Takoma Park-Silver Spring, Bethesda-DC, Silver Spring-Rockville, Germantown, Bowie, Greenbelt and others. Middle school and teen programs available.

Camp Fire background:
Camp Fire was founded in 1910 as the Camp Fire Girls, and has included boys since 1975. Camp Fire is fully inclusive in its membership and does not discriminate based on race, religious belief, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or other aspect of diversity.

Camp Fire in Maryland serves children and youth ages 3 to 22. http://www.campfireusa-patuxent.org

Takoma Park – Silver Spring Camp Fire Family Club
Who: For kids in grades K-5, a parent attends too.
When: Meets 2 Sundays per month, from 1-3pm.
What: Activities like hiking, crafts, field trips, camping and service projects. Kids earn emblems for completing projects.

Bethesda-DC Camp Fire Family Club
Who: For grades 1-8 (with 3 levels), a parent attends too, except for middle schoolers
When: Meets first Sunday of the month from 4-30-6:30 for potluck and meeting. Field Trips and camping on additional dates
Where: Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church 9601 Cedar Lane Bethesda, MD
What: Hiking, canoeing, camping, arts and crafts, songs and community service while earning emblems
First meeting/Try it out on Sunday, October 14, 4:30 PM. New families come at 4 PM.

Costs:
There are national dues, per family, and club dues, per child. These dues are collected only once per year. Certain activities may incur an additional costs, but these costs will be minimal.
