Egg-free and Nut-free Bakeries in the Area?

Anonymous
Just found out my son has egg and tree nut allergies and his 1st birthday is in two weeks! What am I going to do about a cake???

Does anyone know of a egg-free and nut-free bakery where I can order a cake or cupcakes for him? I still want to have a regular cake for the guests but I want a little special cake for my little guy.

Did your allergist specify from a egg and nut free facility/bakery?

I love Sticky Fingers, (vegan), but they definitely have nuts at their bakery.

He may also grow out of these allergies. In the meantime, you may want to scratch "regular" from your vocabulary and refer to "safe" snacks/food.

Hot breads in Kentlands have the most fabulous egg free cakes, but am not sure about the nut free. I use to love sticky fingers, but their is no comparison any more...hot breads is the best for eggless cakes.

Call the manager at Sticky Fingers and ask about their nut policy - they do use nuts in the facility but their approach to them might give you reassurance. (Everyone is different, but we give our kid their products.)

Amy's sells frozen icing-less cakes at Whole Foods that are egg and nut free. You could make your own vanilla icing.

Cherrybrook Kitchen makes boxed cake mixes that are egg and nut free. They are sold at Giant and Whole Foods.
