| Which is better? I would like something that I can use to also track my nutrition as well but not a deal breaker. Pros and cons of each? Overall? |

I have to say, I love that it lets you use your steps to donate to charities. http://www.amazon.com/Striiv-Smart-Pedometer-Basic-Bundle/dp/B00546T5MY http://www.squidoo.com/smart-pedometer-reviews |
| I've seen a lot of positive comments about Fitbit in the health forum. |
| Love Striiv! Very motivating. |
|
Based on reviews here, I was on the verge of replacing my waterlogged Fitbit with a Striiv. But then Fitbit replaced my device for free, after I had washed it twice. The charitable aspect and game part of the Striiv really appealed to me but I love that I can attach my Fitbit to my bra, it's do discreet.
Fitbit recently launched a couple new products? Check out the new devices on their site, no recharging, Bluetooth sync, etc. |
| For tracking - have you tried myfitnesspal? I love, love, love it - started at the recommendation of some other DCUMers, and lost 15 pounds over the summer (after a long plateau!) |
Fitbit links to myfitnesspal. I love mine. It lets me know exactly how many calories I can consume based on my activity level. I loved it so much I bought one for my mom so we could "compete" and motivate each other. Since then my aunt and cousin bought one so now we have our own little fitbit race. I think it's better for walkers or newly active people. You can track nearly anything, but stairs, distance, steps and sleep are tracked automatically. For an extra fee ($50 for a year), you can activate the fitbit trainer, who will help you with your goals through more difficult of challenges. When I level out I plan on adding the trainer. In the last month, I've lost six pounds. |
Wow fit bit seems to have a lot more than striiv. I definitely want my food intake to be a part of the device do it sounds like fit bit is the way to go. I like the game part of striiv but not enough to pick that one. And doesn't the fit bit make you feel motivated as well without having an an actual "game"? |
| fitbit has a little flower that grows based on how active you are. If you're inactive/sitting down for too long, the flower gets small again. |
| The FitBit also has a new tracker coming out called One that will have the compact nature of the Ultra, sleep tracking, etc but will also be a little bit water resistant for those who wear it in their bra and sweat a lot. It will also include the new Bluetooth feature so you won't have to use the base for syncing. |
http://www.fitbit.com/store it's available for pre-order. |
| Fitbit also can account for being pregnant or nursing. I assume it grants your more calories, but I'm neither so I just moved past that screen. |
| What is the best model of fitbit to get? Is the ultra the way to go? |
I have and love the Ultra, but if I were you I'd get Fitbit "One". The difference between the two is that One synchs to your phone so your numbers will update throughout the day. I have to wait until I get home to synch because my work computer won't allow me to download the software. There is another version, Zip, that doesn't cost as much ($59.99 vs. $99.00). It doesn't track sleep or steps. If you don't climb stairs regularly or care about tracking your sleep, that may be the one for you. I read that you can now buy a discounted version of the Ultra on Amazon. |
| So you can't sync the ultra?? |
