Please help this blue girl in a red state! Practically everyone I know considers it perfectly acceptable that Fox News is their one and only news source. I want to come up with a list of all the stupid things they have said about Obama and his administration over the years. All of the implications, allegations, accusations. Anything at all. I'm looking for the most outlandish and ridiculous stories! Maybe if they see all this nonsense in one lengthy list, they will start to realize that this crap never actually pans out and perhaps they should look for real news! Worth a try and could be fun to take a trip down memory lane!
I'll start: Most recently, they accused Obama of remaking the US flag because his campaign was selling a poster that had an O in the blue field instead of stars, and it had stripes. Flag experts (VFW) determined it's not a violation of the flag code (which is a ridiculous freedom of speech infringement anyway) because it shares no actual features: does not have 50 stars, 7 red stripes or 6 white stripes. And it's a poster - not a flag. Accused Obama of dissing Netanyahu in NYC. they should have watched Netanyahu's interview on meet the Press where he says that it was just a scheduling conflict and that Obama has met with him more than any other world leader and that he appreciates that. |
Oh gosh, this would be a massive long list. How about how they ran a photo of Obama speaking with a man dressed as a pirate as proof that he was too busy to talk to Netanyahu because it was talk like a pirate day. Actually the photo was from 2009. |
Media Matters already does this for you. mediamatters.org
it's like one big Fox debunking machine. |
Next I hope you make a list of all of "this crap" that the REST of the news stations spew about anyone remotely conservative. You know, the MSM spin. Because you want to look at things with an open mind, don't you? Isn't that in the liberal script? Make an effort to see both sides and you might not be quite so irritating. |
Republicans have no problem, however, cutting a hole in a flag and wearing it as a poncho: ![]() And Republicans would be more believable on Netanyahu if they could actually attract Jews to their party. |
This. Project complete. |
You confuse anything that doesn't conform rigidly with what you believe to be "spin." Fox News would report the earth is flat if it thought it would hurt Obama. It traffics in outright, shameless, and demonstrable lies. Deliberately. It does not follow that professional journalists pursue an active agenda of disinformation just because your heroes behave this way. That's just a delusional fantasy beyond all comprehension. Are you one of these people who demand to know why the national media isn't reporting about some community college professor in podunk Florida demanding her students swear allegiance to Obama? As if that's news? The professional media is imperfect. It spends too much time covering superficial crap for one thing. It is subject to herd mentality for another. But there's not some active agenda to "get" conservatives, whereas Fox behaves exactly that way. For the life of me, I can't understand why Fox hates America so much that it spends so much time tearing it the fabric of our nation. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the owner and founder is a foreigner. Maybe the question really is: Why does this Australian hate America? |
Because it has made him a fuckton of money.
The Daily Show is another great lampooner of Fox News. See last week's "Chaos on Bullshit Mountain" for starters. |
OP here
Oh, the pirate story... another good one! Thanks for the input, guys! keep it coming! I know I could go to mediamatters or something, but kind of want to make this list dcum style! ![]() |
I think you should just mock the advertising on Fox News. It tells you everything you need to know. |
Actually, it doesn't sound like you are reading the OP with an open mind. The problem is with people that use Fox News EXCLUSIVELY as their news source. I know lots of people that do the same, and it leads to all kinds of inaccurate information being proliferated. The same would be true if someone was using an extremely liberal-biased news source exclusively as well, but I don't think any of the major media outlets are as far to the left as Fox is to the right.(Every news story has some bias, but not to the same degree) Either way, I don't think anyone should use a single news source, particularly in this day and age when multiple sources are literally at your fingertips. I don't automatically trust any single news story to be correct, and usually verify controversial findings either from the source or from multiple reports. To depend on one source, particularly one as biased as Fox News, is basically putting yourself into a state of willful ignorance. Or to put it in the popular terminology, becoming one of the often criticized "sheep" that mindlessly follows their particular herd. |
This is what happens when you rely on Fox News as your exclusive source of news:

OP, I've got one: can you believe that FOX actually believes that Benghazi protest that got out of,hand was actually a planned terrorist attack? I bet they even doctored all the street scenes of the Ambassador after the car blast. Why can't they accept his death and the "Black-Hawk" street re-enactment scene could have been avoided if Shariah Law were in place? |
Uh.... Okaaaaaaay... |
Here's an idea, why not do your own research, and in turn, fight your own battle?
Seriously "help me with my project." Are you going to set up a PayPal account to accept donations for your arts and crafts? Here's one. Can you believe Fox has numerious committed Democrats as hosts and generally gives the opposing view a 1:1 ratio, unlike MSNBC. Seriously, I doubt you've ever even bothered to watch it, so intolerant. |
