I have suddenly started to snore all night

Anonymous
DH has told me that in the last few months I have suddenly started to snore. I am really perplexed about this. He says that I snore through my nose only--not mouth--and there are no pauses in my breathing or any sleep apnea symptoms. He says I snore all night long. The strange thing is he says I snore on my back and my side, which concerns me. Sometimes I wake myself up with my own snoring. I am a woman in my mid-30's and of normal weight, though I have gained about 10 pounds this past year. I'm not sure what to make of this, especially because it is so sudden. I always have a great night's sleep and always wake up refreshed. Anyone experienced anything similar?

I think it might be part of the aging process. Or maybe allergies?

When my husband gains some weight he starts snoring, maybe this is your problem too.

+1 weight gain causes snoring.

Ask a doctor . It could be indicative of a health problem and breathing (even while sleep) is kinda important

I snore when I'm overly tired, have a cold or allergy issues, or take an antihistimine. I wouldn't worry unless it continues for a while.

You might want to get checked out for sleep apnea. It can develop as you age, with or without the weight gain. You can also have it without appearing to gasp.

Maybe that muscle? in your mouth is getting weaker or less taut as you get older. So now you are snoring more. It happens to some people as they get older.
