We both use Camelbak BPA-free plastic bottles that we bought at REI. We like them a lot.

I have this one http://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Intak-18-Ounce-Hydration-Bottle/dp/B0029F1Z6M/ref=pd_sbs_k_29

And this one http://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Nissan-Intak-Hydration-Bottle/dp/B001EGGQB6

I like the first one because I drink more from a straw, and because it doesn't spill if knocked over. The other won't spill if you close it, but you have to remember to close it. I've never been a camelback fan, because I don't like that you have to bite down on the straw while sucking to get the liquid out.

We have both of the Thermos ones the PP posted. The top straw one doesn't usually leak, but isn't the best for tossing in lunch or other bags because it has leaked a few times this way for us - could have been operator error though. The bottom ones rock and we've never had them leak under any circumstances. We also have these and like them. http://www.thermos.com/products/sipp-hydration-bottle-with-black-lid.aspx

Used to use the Camelbaks all the time, but found they start to leak after a while, so now they only get used when not likely to be upside down. If you prefer to drink from glass, these are cool: http://www.lifefactory.com/adults.html?gclid=CKrJr-HAybICFYKK4AodMQ8ADQ.

I like Polar insulated bottles. They're a great company, will send you free replacement lids if your kids chew them up, and all their plastic bottles are made in the US.

I also use a Thermos water bottle. It keeps the water at the perfect temp and for me, the straw is a must. If I don't have a straw, I won't drink enough water.

This one will clip to your purse/backpack, making it perfect for commuting.

I love my bkr bottle. There is no substitute for glass.

We stopped using the sigg bottles because of the aluminum liners. I think many of the stainless steel bottles have this problem. Klean kanteen and camelback are good though!
